Mistfall Hunter Soul Harvest: How to Run It and Spend Souls
Conclusion
ConfirmedEnter after Gyldening via Richie, deliver cocoons to the Fate Altar, survive the ~5-minute defense, then spend Souls on lasting progress if the shop offers it.
- Start
- Finish Gyldening, then speak with Richie.
- Loop
- Collect Soul Cocoons → deliver to Fate Altar → defend about 5 minutes.
- Banked
- First clear 50 Bound Crystals + 50,000 Gyldenblood; daily first-clear +10 Bound Crystals.
- Spend
- Souls go to the Soul Shop. Lasting account progress before cosmetics if both exist.

Evidence
ConfirmedPlayer-readable confidence for this page. Expanded details show claim IDs and status — editorial inference is never labelled Confirmed.
When to re-check this page
- The Soul Harvest event ends or the entry NPC / Gyldening gate changes.
- Official notes change the defense timer, turn-in rules, or first-clear / daily rewards.
- Studio publishes a Soul Shop table, prices, or purchase limits.
- Fail rules or cocoon-on-death behavior are stated in-game or in patch notes.
This page covers the Soul Harvest event window on Launch 1.x, using the official August 12 / 1.0.14.1 notes plus labeled player reports. It is a run-and-spend guide, not a patch reprint. If the event ends or the shop / defense rules change, treat the numbers below as stale.
Direct answer
- Finish Gyldening, then speak with Richie.
- Collect Soul Cocoons and take them to the Fate Altar.
- Defend the altar for about 5 minutes.
- Bank the official first-clear payout: 50 Bound Crystals and 50,000 Gyldenblood. Later days can add a daily first-clear extra of 10 Bound Crystals.
- Spend Souls in the Soul Shop after you can see the live goods. Shop priority is a decision, not a spreadsheet.
Those reward amounts are first-clear / daily first-clear lines from the official notes. This page does not claim they pay out on every run, on a failed defense, or from an incomplete hold.
Prerequisites / how to start
Official start condition is short:
- Gyldening done.
- Talk to Richie.
Do not invent a later quest chain, map unlock, or party-size gate on top of that. If Richie has nothing, you are probably still on Gyldening — finish that first, then talk again.
Soul Harvest is a limited-time mode. The same notes also mention other systems (S-tier soul hunting, Echo weekly, and so on). Those are not this event. Do not farm this page expecting them.
How to run a clear
Treat the loop as three jobs, not one open-world roam:
- Collect Soul Cocoons. Official notes do not publish spawn pins, drop rates, or a fixed farm route. If you find one, get it moving.
- Deliver to the Fate Altar. Cocoons are objective items. Until they are turned in, assume they are still on you and still at risk.
- Hold for about 5 minutes. That timer is official. The feel of the hold is not: players describe a short defend-the-objective / horde encounter, not a full raid.
This is still extraction-shaped risk. Normal carried haul can become a bag under the death and loot rules. Whether Soul Cocoons specifically follow that behavior is unresolved, so the conservative play is to deliver them promptly.
No coordinates are listed here on purpose.
Risks and fail points
| Fail point | Why it hurts | What to do instead |
|---|---|---|
| Die with cocoons before the altar | Cocoon-on-death behavior is unresolved; you may also lose the rest of the kit | Deliver cocoons promptly; do not assume they are protected |
| Altar defense breaks or you wipe mid-hold | Fail penalty is unresolved | Bring a kit you can hold with, not your last fashion loadout |
| Third parties while carrying or holding | Community reports this as the real pressure | Assume other hunters want the same altar |
| Enter a daily-reward attempt unprepared | Official notes tie the bonus to a daily first clear, not every run | Scout the loop if needed, then make a prepared clear attempt |
| Spend Souls before reading the shop | SKUs and prices are not published here | Open Soul Shop, then buy |
Solo vs squad feel is subjective. Early maps can be done alone; a public 5-minute hold is still PvPvE. See solo vs squad if you are deciding whether to queue with fill.
How to spend Souls
Souls are the event currency. They spend in the Soul Shop. That is official. What the shop is selling today is not.
Default rule until a studio table exists:
- Open the Soul Shop and read the live goods.
- If the shop has permanent / account-progress items and also cosmetics or short-lived consumables, buy the lasting progress first.
- If you cannot tell what lasts, hold the Souls. Do not invent a “best buy” list from memory or from a screenshot you cannot verify.
Community threads ask what to buy first and usually give that same bias: progress before flash. Treat any named SKU, price, or ranked shopping list as a player report, not a Mistfall Hub table.
| Currency / board | Where it spends | Same as Soul Harvest? |
|---|---|---|
| Souls | Soul Shop | Yes — this event |
| Echo of Fate | Destiny Map Store | No — weekly personal Echo / World Progress |
| Fate Chart | Season stage gates | No — Fate Chart |
Anima Essence is listed as an extra drop chance during the event. No rate is published, so do not rebuild a farm around it.

FAQ
How do I start Soul Harvest? Finish Gyldening, then speak with Richie. Official notes stop there.
How long is the defense? About 5 minutes, per the official notes. That is the hold after you deliver cocoons, not a promise of a 5-minute queue-to-extract.
What are the official rewards? First clear: 50 Bound Crystals and 50,000 Gyldenblood. Daily first-clear extra: 10 Bound Crystals. You also earn Souls for the Soul Shop. Anima Essence only has an extra drop chance — no rate here.
What should I buy in the Soul Shop? Open the shop. If both exist, take lasting account progress before cosmetics or temporary consumables. Named “best buy” lists stay unverified on this page.
Is this just a 3rd-party simulator? Players say it feels like a short defend-the-objective / horde hold, and they get collapsed by other hunters. That is observation. It is not official copy, and it is not evidence of an external minigame.
What happens if I fail? Unresolved. Official notes do not spell out the fail penalty, whether a broken defense still counts as a daily first-clear, or whether cocoons drop like normal raid loot. Do not spend your only good kit to find out.
When this page is wrong
Re-verify, do not patch-guess, if any of these fire:
- The event ends, or Richie / Gyldening is no longer the entry.
- The defense timer, turn-in rules, or first-clear / daily crystal lines change.
- Official Soul Shop contents or prices are published.
- Fail rules or cocoon-on-death behavior are stated in-game.
